Manrider Conveyor

A leading UK automotive manufacturer required a modular manrider conveyor system to improve efficiency across three separate production lines.

The project involved the replacement of a contaminated rubber belt conveyor, the extension of a skillet line, and the integration of conveyor sections within a mezzanine floor structure. The objective was to modernise the production environment with a more reliable, adaptable, and easy-to-maintain solution.

FATA Automation designed and installed a solution based on modular conveyor sections using plastic modular belts, offering a number of key advantages over traditional conveyor systems. In the event of a failure in a single module, the rest of the system continues to function, ensuring minimal disruption to production. Additionally, the modular belts can be quickly removed, cleaned, repaired, or replaced, significantly reducing downtime and maintenance effort.

The system was engineered for durability, cleanliness, and operational flexibility, making it ideal for high-output automotive environments. Its modular construction allowed for seamless integration into the client’s existing infrastructure, accommodating unique space constraints such as mezzanine levels and complex production flows. Replacing the outdated rubber belt system not only improved reliability and cleanliness, but also supported better operator access and ergonomics through the use of manrider platforms, enhancing productivity along the entire line.
